Rolling Swim Start
Due to popular request, we are improving the swimming experience by introducing a rolling swim start at the upcoming Legends Triathlon!
What is a rolling swim start? Swimmers decide "When" they want to start the race instead of going together as a group (The Traditional Wave Start). An athlete’s race time will begin when they go over the timing mat before entering the water.
The improvements to this format is that faster swimmers go in earlier avoiding navigating through the slower swimmers and make it more enjoyable for all swimmers.
Find a buddy or make a friend: One bonus of a rolling start is that you can choose to "start" the race with your buddy (male or female) and compete directly with each other. What could be more fun way to do a Triathlon with a friend? Be an Angel Buddy!
Athletes will self-seed based on their typical 100 yard swim time. There will be signs with times to help you line up. If you are new and unsure line up behind sign #4, 5 or 6
The Olympic Category goes first then is followed by the Express Category
1: Less than 1:15
2: 1:15 to 1:30
3: 1:30 to 1:45
4: 1:45 to 2:00
5: 2:00 to 2:30
6: 2:30 and above
